Our Early Childhood program is for children ages 3 to 6 years old and serves families seeking a Montessori preschool and kindergarten in Heber City, Utah, including those in Midway, Park City, and the greater Wasatch County area. Our Montessori curriculum focuses on math and language foundations while thoughtfully weaving in science, art, social studies, movement, and music throughout the day. When children complete the Early Childhood program, they have finished their Montessori kindergarten year and are well prepared to move on to first grade.

The Half Day Program is perfect for students who are just beginning their preschool experience, gently adjusting to the rhythm and routine of a Montessori classroom.

The Full Day Program is ideal for children who are ready for a longer, more engaged day—supporting both social development and deeper academic exploration in a Montessori kindergarten environment.

Montessori is unique by design because it is responsive to each child’s development rather than what a child “should be” learning at a given age. The curriculum is thoughtfully adjusted—moving forward or slowing down—to meet the natural pace of your child, exactly where they are.

What we study:

  • Through Practical life skills like pouring wet and dry materials, folding napkins, mixing bubbles, washing tables, and caring for a baby doll—children learn how to care for themselves and their environment. The thoughtfully prepared materials are beautifully designed to invite participation, naturally drawing children into meaningful work. These purposeful tasks build concentration, coordination, independence, and essential foundations for future skills like reading and preparing the hand for a pencil.

  • Sensorial Exploration The sensorial materials invite children to explore the world through their senses—refining sight, touch, sound, taste, and smell through hands-on discovery. With beautifully designed materials, children sort, compare, and sequence concepts like size, shape, texture, color, and sound. This work not only sharpens observation and discrimination but also builds a foundation for language, math, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

  • Mathematical Thinking: Math is one of the hallmarks of Montessori, transforming abstract concepts into a visual, hands-on experience. Through carefully sequenced materials, children explore numbers, quantity, and operations in concrete, meaningful ways—building deep understanding step by step. This approach makes math approachable, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable for all types of learners.

  • Language-Rich Environment: Our classroom is a living language laboratory where children build vocabulary through hands-on exploration and precise Montessori nomenclature—from biggest to smallest to rough and smooth. Through puzzles, sequencing, and games like I-Spy, children develop strong observation and communication skills. As readiness emerges, the alphabet is introduced in small groups, leading to phonetic reading, word building, and a natural progression into the patterns and rules of the English language.

  • Global Exploration & Geography Our journey begins with the story of how our planet was formed, flowing into an exploration of the water cycle and hands-on work with models of volcanoes, lakes, islands, bays, and capes. As children build a strong geographical foundation, they travel across the continents—discovering unique cultures, animals, and native peoples. Through songs in different languages, tasting foods from around the world, and reading global stories, children develop a deep appreciation for both our differences and our shared humanity, fostering a sense of connection and care for the world around them.

  • Science curriculum comes alive through hands-on discovery, where children explore physical science and dive into botany and zoology by observing real, living specimens whenever possible—sparking curiosity as they closely study, care for, and uncover the parts and wonders of plants and animals.

  • Creative Art Integration brings the entire classroom to life, weaving together every area of learning. Children build a strong artistic foundation as they master essential tools like glue and scissors, explore a variety of media, and discover influential artists and styles. Their creativity is further enriched through our integrated study of continents, where art becomes a window into cultures around the world.
